Complex Brain Tumor Removed Successfully, Restoring Hope
The Neurosurgery Department at Almana Hospital Ahsa successfully removed a large, high-risk brain tumor located near the motor and sensory areas. Following surgery, the patient regained movement and sensation, walked the next day, and was discharged in good health.
The Neurosurgery Department at Almana Hospital Ahsa received a patient experiencing severe headaches, heaviness and weakness on the left side of the body, numbness, and reduced sensation.
Radiological examinations revealed a large vascular brain tumor in the right frontoparietal region. The tumor was located within areas responsible for movement and sensation, making the procedure extremely high risk due to the possibility of death or complete paralysis on the left side of the body.
Using advanced neurosurgical techniques, including minimally invasive microscopic surgery, the medical team performed the operation through an incision measuring less than five centimetres and successfully removed the tumor completely.
Following the procedure, the patient regained movement and sensation on the left side of the body. The patient was able to walk the next day and was discharged home a few days later in good health.
This achievement reflects the expertise of the neurosurgery team at Almana Hospitals and its commitment to using advanced medical technologies to save lives, improve treatment outcomes, and enhance patients’ quality of life.
