Almana Bariatric Center (ABC) is located in Almana Medical Tower, 6th floor, Khobar. With a highly trained team of surgeons, nutritionists, and other health professionals, Almana Bariatric Center provides the patients with safe and effective weight-loss surgery, comprehensive pre- and post-operative education and ongoing aftercare.

Our primary objective is: to guide you to a happier, healthier life.

At ABC, we provide a comprehensive surgical and medical service for patients who are overweight, and discuss the appropriate procedures for them.

The types of weight loss surgery we offer include:

Sleeve Gastrectomy:

The surgeon removes approximately 60-80% of the stomach, so, by reducing the size of the stomach, only small meals can be eaten but the appetite is satisfied.

Gastric Bypass:

It is an operation in which the stomach is reduced in size. This stomach is then connected to the small intestine, allowing the lower part of the stomach and first section of small intestine to be bypassed.

Mini Gastric Bypass:

A scaled-down, miniature version of the traditional gastric bypass surgery. The difference in the actual surgery is that with mini gastric bypass, the procedure is laparoscopic and reversible. Instead of a small pouch that is created with Roux-En-Y gastric bypass, the mini gastric bypass procedure creates a narrow tube that is attached to the small intestine, approximately six feet from its starting point, a placement that bypasses the highly absorptive section of the intestine.

Biogenetics Intragastric Balloon (BIB):

The BIB system consists of a soft, expandable balloon, the placement tube, and a filling system that allows a physician to insert the weight loss aid orally. Once inserted into the stomach, the empty balloon is filled with sterile saline. When full, the balloon is too large pass into the bowel and will float freely in the stomach.

Gastric Band:

In this procedure an inflatable band (the gastric band) is inserted to sit around the top of the stomach. The stomach can then be narrowed by inflating the band, leading to a feeling of fullness by limiting the stomach's capacity to take food.

We are happy to discuss these options with you, to give you information about its advantages and side effects, and to help you decide on the best approach for your weight problem.
